LOS ANGELES Potterheads got to experience somemagic at VidCon on Wednesday.
In a special event one that seemed more fitting for Comic-Con than a digital video conference Warner Bros. brought together a handful of YouTube creators from across the globe to talk all things Fantastic Beasts.
The event quickly filled up, with the Warner Bros. fan page with tickets closing just a short amount of time after going live. However, the panel was live streamed on both YouTube and Facebook. At its peak, over 30,000 people tuned in.
It’s the first time the Hollywood studio has come to VidCon, an event geared toward younger fans who flock to the Anaheim Convention Center every year to see their favorite digital stars.
Though the studio had announced plans to have a presence at the conference, the event itself was shrouded in mystery. Fans began tweeting about it Tuesday evening, following the reveal of a new poster for the Harry Potter spinoff film.
The Fantastic Beasts Twitter account also began releasing images of YouTube creators from across the globe on set of the film.
They were then joined by Andrs Navy, Leticia Torre Walsh, Jack Maynard, Charlie McDonnell, Ftima Orozco, Javier Ruescas, and Holly Molly all who shared their favorite tidbits from their set visits and nerdiest Harry Potter moments.
I think what Im excited to see the most is seeing the fandom that lives,” Oakley told the audience. “And has continued to live since the original books came out, have something super exciting to come together again.”

Warner Bros. will also have a booth on the exposition hall floor, where attendees can train to be their own “wand masters,” Oakley said.
Fantastic Beasts hits theaters Nov. 18. Until then, the creators promised lots of content from their visits to the set.
Plus, they teased that Thursday also has a Fantastic Beastssurprise in store.
