The former child star was barely recognizable in a leather hood surrounded by a band of women wearing angel costumes. “>
As new Today show host Billy Bush put it in his introduction Friday morning, Corey Feldmans name is synonymous with 80s movies like The Goonies and Stand by Me. But the former child star did just about everything he could to distance himself from that innocent image when he performed a new song titled Go 4 It from his new double-album Angelic 2 the Core.
None other than Snoop Dogg raps a verse on the official track, but apparently he was busy this morning. So instead, Feldman enlisted rapper Doc Ice to take his place. Tell us whats going on, a nervous-looking Bush said to Feldman before the performance. Youve got a grim reaper look going on, the angels are here, I dont like this interaction.
Feldman explained that he decided to make his album cover an image of angels pulling him out of a fire pit because he knows angels have probably saved me once or twice in my life. Thats why he created Coreys Angels, an effort he described as a way to find young women who are lost and help make their realities their dreams but has also been described on at least one occasion as an all-girl sex cult.
The performance itself was marked by some impressively weird dance moves and vocals by Feldman, who at one point sheds his hood to transform into a Michael Jackson-esque costume that he complemented with some imitation moonwalking.
Weve got nothing to lose, so baby, baby, lets go for it. Lets go for it, Feldman sang in unison with his band. Those words were never more true.
